Our client is a nation-wide logistics operator, who reached us with the request to automate their document management process. The client’s legacy document management process proved to be inefficient and expensive. What they needed was a scalable system that could handle simultaneously varied document workflows processing large volumes of data, be secure and easy to navigate.
The requirement to design, develop, and implement a custom electronic document management system (EDMS) offering ticket-alike workflow came from our client’s desire to replace their legacy non-electronic document management process with a solution that would allow them to work pursuing best agile practices.
The main challenge of the requested development was to come up with a user-friendly EDMS that offers Jira-alike Kanban boards capable of assigning owners to documents from the backlog, automatically changing documents’ statuses after reviews, filtering data and changing views upon user requests, being integrated to project-management platforms, etc.
What’s more, the client’s legacy document management process was non-compatible with their new course of remote collaboration; therefore, a new EDMS required a secure channel of communication between teams who work within the document workflows.
