The client reached out to us with the request to develop a platform for Swiss schools. The need we were to solve with the platform was to provide public and private schools with a tool that could connect peer students to study better. The idea that lies behind the project is to bring to the market an alternative business model to Swiss tutoring agencies.
Our client came up with the idea to equip weak students with a platform that can serve as an alternative to existent tutoring agencies. The main technical requirement was to automate the process of matching those who need tutors with the latest. Our team was also helping the client to figure out the scope of features needed for the third role, a head master.
The business model that we were helping with is unique in two categories. The role of tutors is given to bright although underage students, which in turn requires their school administration to oversee the whole process. What’s more, each school in Switzerland has its own educational program that can be taught better by the tutors who know relevant educational materials. In case of underage tutors, their qualification should be monitored and approved by school head masters.
Infinity Technologies approached the request as a technical partner to the project. We started from the inception stage, where all the technical requirements were either elicited or developed from scratch, and we included a dedicated Business Analyst into the core team of the project to ensure precise requirement gathering and alignment with business goals.
Infinity Technologies developed a platform that matches tutoring requests with qualified tutors, provides available time slots and locations, automatically generates contracts, and allows the admin role to oversee the process. Intuitive navigation and on-the-go booking capability of the platform adds to user-friendliness of our product.
This EdTech solution that we implemented into Swiss school system saves students’ costs for the tutoring needs and boosts educational motivation of all the parties in general, be that weak students or their peer tutors. From the school management perspective, schools benefit from the level of knowledge of their graduates that’s gone up due to the platform’s usage as well as an easy and user-friendly process of monitoring the process of peer tutorship.
Similar approach of matching is potentially applicable to many other industries and businesses; for instance, dentist cabinets, beauty salons, car repairs, real estate, etc.
From the business perspective, providing one student acquires a 100-Euro package of classes per month and a school might have some 100-150 weak students in need of tutorship, a 10 percent commission fee can raise up to Euro 18.000,00 per annum of passive income from one subscribed school.
